The basic work of a CMS is to ensure that every ID is obtained solely by the authorized receivers. Such critical tasks are attained by authenticating operators through the use of smart cards and other PKI tokens. Such high-level security tokens, allow performed actions to be logged with operator information and critical operations to be signed.
